braids

braids is a web client for Mastodon, designed for convenience, curation, and control of your timeline.

  • Convenience: Currently, Mastodon's 3 timelines—home, local, and federated—are located in separate feeds. braids combines them into one stream of toots that maintains a semi-chronological order.

  • Curation: Our interface lets you prioritize certain content, such as toots from people you follow or toots about cats, in your combined timeline. Simply put, it shows more of the content you want to see.

  • Control: Unlike Instagram or X, where the algorithm behind the timeline is a black box, we use a rules-based algorithm where you have complete control and understanding of what content you see, and why you're seeing it.
